EPS, Expanded Polystyrene, is lightweight material that is well known for its durability, insulation, shock and moisture resistance. In its raw form EPS is a lightweight plastic consisting of hollow spherical balls.
Raw bead is expanded and bonded through a process involving steam and high pressure, and then moulded into the required shape or alternatively moulded into block form and cut to size.
EPS can be expanded to a wide range of densities achieving different physical strengths, weights and/or insulation efficiencies. The density is selected based on the application of the final product.
EPS is an incredibly versatile and easy to handle product which has near endless uses but is typically common in packaging and is fast becoming a very popular construction material
with various uses from decorative such as architectural moulds and cornices to more practical uses such as building blocks, pod foundations and insulation.
